decriminalization of victimless crimes with a reference to iranian law

victimless crimes refers to those offences which do not violate or threaten the rights of anybody and thus no particular person would be regarded as the victim of the crime. this issue is dealt with in a number of researches in criminology and what is recently known as victimology. the implication of such idea is that such behaviors should not be regarded as illegal. there are different views about the pros and cons of the issue and whether the criminality of such behaviors should be removed or not. in this article, the views of advocates and proponents of decriminalization of such conducts will be first reviewed. then the issue will be discussed within the iranian criminal law.
